I recently saw an interesting short doco on organic community gardens in Cuba. Cubans call them “organoponicas” and the abscence of chemical reliance came about due to necessity when they simply ran out and could no longer import them.
It’s worth watching and it only runs for about 5 minutes. Basically these small urban community gardens feed the local communities, create jobs and are completely chemical free.
In contrast, our society is wholly dependent on the supermarkets to sell us overpriced poor quality food while our health and bank balances decline.
