Organic vs commercially (chemically) grown…

A while ago I did an experiment by planting 3 pineapple tops which I’d bought at different places.  The 2 in the left of the photo were bought through supermarkets and the one on the right was from the organic market.  It’s difficult now to find pineapples with their tops in tact at supermarkets and I suspect they probably remove them not only to reduce transport costs but so they can’t be regrown.  

  

The organic pineapple on the right is at least twice the size and much healthier. It will be interesting to see how the compare when they begin to produce fruit.  I will be surprised if the supermarket bought pineapple actually fruits.
