Homegrown breakfast…

After planting rows of Marigolds a few weeks ago I’m enjoying experimenting with the flowers and flavours.  This morning I picked a selection of herbs from the garden including Sweet Basil, Brahmi, Marigold leaves and flowers.

  
I scrambled some local free range eggs and mixed in the herb & flower mix.  I always have some sourdough on hand which I bake every couple of days. (I use an organic bread mix sourced from the organic farm on Neigbouring Macleay Island)

The Marigolds give any dish a fresh floral taste and the leaves have a much stronger flavour than the flowers.  

  

The different varieties also vary in flavour. These are an African variety. I also have French and French multi coloured.
