There is always plenty of beautiful wildlife to watch around High-Water. When the flowers are blooming the bees are out in force. These native bees are getting their fill of pollen from the giant sunflowers.
Not all bugs are as beautiful or productive when visiting. Unfortunately there has been a break out of grasshoppers recently. They have infested just about anywhere that they can get some cover. This one was making a meal of the corn. Lucky for this beast of a grasshopper my garden helper named him “Big Charlie” and banished him to the wilderness over the cliff.
I can’t guarantee that Big Charlie will be so lucky if he returns for another meal.
