High-water is situated on approximately 3000sq metres at the highest south easterly point of Lamb Island, which is located in the Moreton Bay Marine Park.

The small property was established as a retreat to grow chemical free organic food and to apply sustainable and self sufficient practises and principles.

It’s purpose is to establish and promote a sustainable organic food culture on the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.

The Southern Moreton Bay Islands have a rich history of food production dating back to the 1800’s (see history of the island in the drop down menu). Unfortunately due to poorly thought out residential development in the 1970’s, much of the farming land on the islands was converted into small residential lots.

Change is underway and the movements of “Urban Farming” and “Voluntary Simplicity” are gaining momentum with some of the local island residents forming a food growers association and community gardens on neighbouring islands.

These developments are providing an exciting opportunity for the local islands to become a cultural hub for alternative sustainable lifestyle models.
